Andy Bates Leatherwork

Historical Replicas

Andy has made replica archaeological and historical artefacts for the Discovery Channel, the BBC, English Heritage, Newcastle University, the Gefrin Trust, Bamburgh Castle Archaeology Museum and for private collectors.
Having worked in archaeology and with access to university facilities, Andy researches his replicas to an academic standard and produces the most authentic reproductions possible. He works in leather and other materials such as wood, bone, horn, metals and more esoteric substances such as flint and bark.
Contact us if you have a query about a replica from any period. A report can also be submitted with the finished piece detailing the research carried out, working methods and sources used.
